Mrs Owen had asked us to create a masterpiece for the meeting room. After our design stage, we then started to draw our ideas on the canvas. Everyone then had a turn to paint a part.

In our social group, we used an adventure card pack to create a story. We worked together to think of scenes, characters and what could happen. It was great fun acting it out. Please click the link to watch our acting.

Mrs Owen has asked the art group to create something to brighten up the meeting room in school. The group decided they would like to draw something on a canvas that represents the school. This was the designing stage.

To end our first half term, we decided to make Halloween cakes. Following a list of ingredients, we measured what was needed and combined the mixture until it was smooth. We worked together in groups, taking turns to weigh, mix and pour the batter. While they were cooking, we had the big job of washing up. Then the fun part to decorate them with icing, marshmallows and sprinkles.

We had so much fun using the masking tape and paint the other week, we decided to do it again. Over the last two weeks in our art and craft group, we used the masking tape to create a picture. Using different colours, we finished off our creations. Here are just a few!

In a group session this week, we have been thinking about what makes us different and how we would feel if we stood out from everyone else. We also thought about what is important to us and what doesn’t really matter.

This was useful technique to make us realise that it doesn’t matter if we are all different, it’s a part of what makes us unique. If someone else is better at something, they can help you out too.

We had a great time in the social group, playing the game Headbanz, to try and guess what we were. This is a really good communication game, focusing on asking questions, talking in a group and using our social skills.

In craft club this week, we have been using masking tape to write our initials. We then painted lots of different colours over the top. When it had dried, we had great fun peeling the masking tape off to reveal our initials.
